Old City Hall Boston, MA On a blustery Spring day an errant tent got away and knocked the Ben Franklin Bronze off of its pedestal. The sculpture, the first Bronze memorial ever in the City of Boston, was brought to our studio, repaired and restored to its original surface coloration. The sculpture was reset on its pedestal using an updated fastening system designed and fabricated by Daedalus Inc. Client: The Architectural Heritage Foundation/Old City Hall

Boston, MA This bronze and granite civil war memorial by Martin Milmore sits atop Flagstaff Hill in the center of the Boston Common. The five heroic sized bronze sculptures were cleaned, repaired, re-patinated and coated. Several missing parts such as swords and decorative elements were fabricated in bronze. The granite was cleaned and re-pointed. The carved lettering was gilded. Client: City of Boston/Weston and Sampson Architects

Before Treatment The bronze plaque and eagle dedicated to those who served in WW1 was conserved as part of the Portsmouth NH/Kittery ME bridge reconstruction project. The memorial was removed from the bridge, cleaned, repaired, repatinated, coated, re-gilded and installed on the newly fabricated bridge. (Walsh Construction GC)

Cemetery Markers and Memorials
Before Treatment This slate grave marker rests in Boston's King Chapel Cemetery, one of the first European Burying Grounds in the country. This one of fifty slate markers, some dating from the early 1700's treated by Daedalus. The treatments included cleaning, stabilizing delaminating surfaces, re-adhering broken sections, filling losses, and re-setting the markers.

It was then cleaned of degraded paint and rust and restored to its original finish through polychrome painting and gilding. Client: Commonwealth of MA/City of Cambridge

A new mounting and plumbing system was devised. A protective coating was applied to the interior of the bowl. The fountain was re-assembled. Client: Mass. Horticultural Society
