Daedalus is equipped to support the preservation and conservation needs of a diverse variety of clients
Government
We have worked with multitude of local, state and federal agencies to help preserve our shared cultural heritage. These projects include the restoration of large scale metal and stone monuments, historic markers, historic fountains and one-of-a kind works that make make each municipal client unique. Daedalus carries liability insurance that exceeds most requirements for public projects in our field and has bonding capabilities to fulfill most bid requirements. All of our staff is OSHA trained.
Universities
Daedalus specializes in condition surveys which can help Public and Private Universities develop strategies to care for their collections. We also perform complex treatments and yearly maintenance on the collections as warranted. We will help train facilities staff to perform basic upkeep as it pertains to works of art.
Museums
Our conservation roots come from working for museums to help bolster their conservation needs. We have helped many museums care for their object collections and will assist in the solving of problems relating to care and display of artifacts.
Private Collections
We have worked to help care for and maintain some the most prestigious private art collections in the country. If you have an antiquity, a modern sculpture or a family heirloom that needs attention, it will be treated by our professionals using ethical conservation techniques including a complete record of treatments performed.
Construction Companies
Many times large scale projects include the need to treat objects that fall outside the line of what is typically found on a construction site. We have been a value added resource for firms while they repair historic structures, rehab bridges or enhance existing parks, roads and paths by providing hands-on treatment and acting as a liaison between construction companies and historic preservation officials whenever needed.
Cemeteries and Burying Grounds
Daedalus works with all materials used to make grave markers, monuments and plots. We have been trusted by the caretakers of historic cemeteries across the U.S. to provide treatments on 17th century slate grave markers, granite, marble, zinc and bronze memorials as well as wrought and cast iron fencing.
Preservation Architects and Engineers
Whether it is writing specifications for complex conservation issues relating to art and architectural ornament or just and an informal discussion about process and materials we can help craft ethical and biddable treatment plans for a wide range of objects and building elements.
Preservation Societies and Friends Groups
We can help with the process of getting grants and fundraising by providing detailed condition assessments with clearly defined treatment recommendations and cost analyses.
